Wilson Manufacturing & Design, Inc. was recently employed in the design and construction of this gypsum load-out system in Trimble County Kentucky. The outcome of this unique project is to transfer the gypsum generated at the facility to a barge at a rate of 500 TPH.
The scope of this project is shared below.
A below grade load- out is utilized to dump materials from plant operations onto a 400' transfer conveyor. The 12' square hopper is constructed of heavy guage mild steel and lined with UHMW. This also features a structural bar grizzly to allow dumping from truck or end loader. Catwalks, handrails, and stairs are provided for access to pit entrance, transfer conveyors, and support superstructures. A 100' long conveyor is incorporated to transfer gypsum at a rate of 500TPH onto a 55' retractable shuttle conveyor with a Midwest load-out spout. Our 55' shuttle conveyor is of similar design and rated at 500TPH. However, it is designed to traverse in and out to load barges. All four post and two post bends are constructed of heavy structural beams.
This system was designed by Wilson Manufacturing's in house design staff, and includes many of Wilson Manufacturing & Design standard features such as:
- Hinge type belt conveyor covers
- Zero speed switches
- Emergency stop cables & switches
- Continuously welded joints
- OSHA belt guards
- Martin Dirt Hawg belt cleaners
